Cynthia Chang

Cynthia Chang:  Vice-President.  Term Expires: 2022 (Appointed in lieu of election 1998 and 2002 and reelected 2006, 2010, 2014 and 2018) is a CPA and holds an MBA from California State University, Los Angeles.  She was a member of the Saratoga Union School District Board from 1994-98 before serving on the high school board.  She also serves as the California School Boards Association Region 20 delegate.  She is past President and current Vice President of the Asian Pacific Islander School Board Members Association.  

Ms. Chang represented the LGSUHSD Board on the MetroEd Board of Trustees from 2004-2015 and is continuing to serve as Board Liaison on the LGSUHSD Budget Advisory Committee and Audit Committee.  She is active in the community, serving as the BSA Troop 508 Committee Chair for six years and as the Co-Chair of Saratoga's Memorial Day Observance event for the past three years (2013-2015).  She was recognized as Woman of the Year for the California Assembly's 24th District in March 2010 for her decades of service to the community. 


David Guidry: Term Expires: 2022 (Elected in 2018) has worked in high tech for over 30 years, first as an engineer and then in marketing.  He has a BS degree from University of California, Berkeley and an MBA from the London Business School.  He is a long time resident of the area and has raised 2 kids here, both of whom attended Saratoga High School.  For the past 15 years, Mr. Guidry has been increasingly active in our community and with our schools.  Starting as AYSO and Math Olympiad coaches to spend more time with his children, he then moved on to the Saratoga Education Foundation and Saratoga High School Foundation, serving as President during his time in both organizations.  With both children in band, he has been a chaperone and regular volunteer with the marching bands.  He is also currently on the board for the Friends of the Saratoga Libraries.  He serves on the Santa Clara County School Board Association and as Liaison to the District Parcel Tax Oversight Committee.


Peter L. Hertan: Term Expires: 2022 (Elected in 2018) has been a resident of Los Gatos since 1977 and is the parent of a daughter who graduated from LGHS.  Mr. Hertan has been extensively involved in local education, serving as an assistant coach for a girl’s softball team, a member of the Los Gatos elementary schools’ Dad’s Club and as President of the Los Gatos Education Foundation.  Mr. Hertan worked in high tech for over 30 years, first as an engineer, then in sales and marketing.  He has been the CEO of three successful startups and VP of either Engineering or Marketing & Sales for five successful startups.   

He blended his commitment to quality education and his work in high tech as a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) tutor at West Valley College for two years and as a long-term board member and President of the Institute of Computer Technology (ICT).  ICT, as a State of California charter, supported teacher education around the use of computers in schools.  Mr. Hertan has and continues to serve the broader community, as a member of the Civil Grand Jury for two years, as their foreperson for the second year, and is currently a member of two County Commissions, plus the VTA Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Commission, and the Los Gatos Transportation and Parking Commission. 

As Trustee, Mr. Hertan now serves as the Board Representative to the feeder elementary school districts, the alternate Board Representative to the Budget Advisory Committee, and as the LGSUHSD Board Representative to the local TV station, KCAT.

Rosemary Rossi

Rosemary Rossi, Clerk.  Term Expires: 2020, (Elected in November 2016, 2012, 2008, 2004)  is a retired high school science teacher.  She has been active in public education since 1997 serving as a school board member and president of the Home and School Association in Lower Merion, Pennsylvania.  Ms. Rossi is the parent of four children, three of whom graduated from Saratoga High School.  She has served as co-president of the Saratoga High School PTSA, a member of the PTSA Board, member of the Saratoga School Site Council and as co-president of Saratoga-Los Gatos-Monte Sereno Newcomers Club.  She serves as a Board Representative on the District’s Budget Advisory Committee and Health Benefits Advisory Committee.

Katherine TsengKatherine Tseng : President. Term Expires: 2020 (Elected November, 2016, 2012) has been active in our school community for fourteen years and has served as Co-President for the Saratoga High School PTSO, Redwood Middle School PTA, Argonaut Elementary School PTA, Saratoga Education Foundation, Music Boosters, Saratoga High School Foundation and as a member of the Executive Board of Saratoga High School Sports Boosters.  She has served for six years on the advisory board of the Saratoga Union School District and for the past year on the LGSUHSD Superintendent's Advisory Council.  She was one of the co-chairs of the LGSUHSD Parcel Tax, Measure A campaign - successfully leading the passage of the first ever district parcel tax.  She currently represent the LGSUHSD Board on the MetroEd Board of Trustees .  She holds an M.A. in Statistics and has 15 years business experience as an actuarial consultant.  She is the parent of two children, both graduates of Saratoga High School.

prosper chiuProsper Chiu is the ASB Board Representative of Saratoga High School for the year of 2018-2019. He has served in leadership for the past two years as the freshman class vice president and the sophomore class president. As the Board Rep, he is making a choice to support the entire school and not just his class. He is also interested in being a liaison between Saratoga High and Los Gatos High to create more activities between the two schools. In his downtime, his hobbies include hanging out with friends, playing League of Legends, or trying out new stunts for Kung Fu. He also enjoys spending time with his two bunnies named Hobbit and Habbit. He also looks forward to helping out his school and serving as the Board Representative in the coming year. 

lauren millerLauren Miller is a senior at Los Gatos High School and is excited to serve as a student board representative for the 2018-2019 school year.  Lauren has been involved in student government since she started her time at LGHS, and she has since served as Freshman Class Vice President, Sophomore Class Vice President, Junior Class President, and is currently the ASB President at LGHS.  Outside of leadership, Lauren can be found flipping across the football field on the LGHS Varsity Cheerleading Team. She now serves on the Northern California board of BBYO, an international Jewish Youth Group Movement, where she explores her Jewish heritage and connects with Jewish leaders across the globe. In her free time, Lauren enjoys going to yoga, cooking up a storm in the kitchen, and learning a variety of languages.
